Microsoft recently reached out to a number of bloggers and offered them some SUPER-NICE laptops with Windows Vista pre-installed, just for being bloggers.
Admittedly, we're a long ways from having the readership numbers that would justify us being included in such an offer, but the way to get more people reading is to have more content! In fact, I have a veritable army of people I could summon daily to our blog, were there content worthy of it. Also, even though the "Motivator" meme is usually used in mockery these days, I really liked this. Monday, December 4. 2006

Some of you may not be aware of the now-defunct "Google Answers" service, where you could post any question and experts would charge a nominal fee to answer it.
Two classic questions: Is Google on fire? and How many T-Rexes in a gallon of gas? Update: Here's the post where Google announced the death of "Google Answers". Monday, November 27. 2006

I honestly don't believe at this point that anyone OTHER than Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh could make an acceptable version of The Hobbit, so I was more than a bit dismayed at this bit of news.

Mostly, I wanted Daboo's take on this news, but if anyone else has a strong opinion they'd like to voice, leave a comment.

I found this picture particularly beautiful, and decided to edit it for those who may not have their astronavigational bearings.
That's a REAL picture of Saturn as taken by the Cassini space probe as it heads out of our solar system. The probe is facing backwards into the center of our solar system, and the sun was eclipsed by Saturn, which is mostly made out of gas and ice particles, giving that halo glow. In the second image, I have highlighted what I understand to be the planet Earth. Wednesday, October 25. 2006
