I really enjoyed the Two Rivers portion of these chapters. Perrin seems to be growing and changing very quickly as a character, even though he himself doesn't seem to see it. The later chapters, when the story returned to Rand and Mat seemed much more deliberate, and once again returned to setting the stage for later things. In seeing how much Jordan has laid out for himself, it's no wonder that it took him so many books to fulfil the prophecies and wrap up the loose ends.
Perrin finds out that two Aes Sedai, Verin and Alanna are in the Two Rivers.
He begins gathering people into Emond's Field from the remaining farms so that they can have a fortified place to stand against the trollocs.
He rescues several prisoners from the White Cloaks camp, and, with a small army of young men that he has gathered, he begins his battle against the trollocs.
Rand and Mat return from Rhuidean to find that Aviendha and Moiraine have also gone in. While waiting for them to return, Rand learns about his real parents.
Elayne and Egwene meet in tel'aran'rhiod. Before their meeting is complete, Egwene is hauled out of the dream world by Amys, and punished for breaking her word to the Wise Ones.
Rand, Mat, and the Aiel begin their journey toward Cold Rocks Hold.
