A bit of advice, ladies and gentlemen: if your ego is at all fragile, don't hang around your wife as she listens to your podcast...

1 year in and 50 podcasts done. While we did nothing to celebrate this momentous occasion, it is worth noting that we did accomplish it. Aaron came back on this weeks podcast to help us get through the episodes we didn't get around to discussing last week. The conversations got heated a couple of times, but all in all things went quite well. And so that there is no confusion whatsoever, TW5 is extremely grateful to all the men and women who serve in law enforcement. This podcast covers the episodes 2-4 of The West Wing, Season 1.

I think if your wife is damaging your ego, she should make it up to you by making you breakfast burritos. Just sayin'.

I got a bit behind on podcasts because my earphones broke, so I'm trying to catch up right now. Hopefully you'll forgive me for commenting on things with a significant time delay.
I agree with Joey's comment that we should make Latin more accessible, but I disagree with his reasoning. Here's why I think that we should learn Latin: --Latin is the root of multiple modern languages. If someone knows Latin, it becomes much easier for him to speak Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, etc. --Latin is widely used in the sciences. Many words that we hear when studying science are much easier to understand when they are from a language that we speak or are familiar with. --The roots of our political system and legal systems are Latin. The Greeks may have originated the idea of democracy, and the Babylonians may have originated the idea of codified law, but our government is quite closely modeled upon the Roman Republic. If we want to know what the strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies of our government and legal systems are, then we should study Roman history, and all of the primary sources for Roman history are in Latin. I could go on, but suffice it to say that I believe we are losing a great treasure by failing to make Latin available for wide study. Johnny Elbows on :
Aaron Burr did not create the Treasury. You could say that Alexander Hamilton created the Treasury. Aaron Burr killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel.

I am, quite obviously, wrong on this one. Thanks for catching me out, Johnny.
