Funny, I had a similar impression about him thinking he was getting close to finishing the series instead of just getting started.
How can anyone love Nynaeve? Tolerate her? Sure. Appreciate her perspective on the story. Maybe. Understand the role she plays in helping Rand fulfill his destiny? Okay. But love her? Wow.
I do on the other hand, love Min.
I actually appreciated Bornhald's actions in that village. Lock them all up with food and water so you give yourself a few days time before any word of your movements can spread. You have no idea who you can trust in that area. You've already basically been betrayed by members of your own order and you know you're marching to your deaths in a fight against a force that seems unstoppable in many ways. I like Bornhald.
Verin is kind of creepy. I have thoughts about her in future books that I'll keep to myself for now.
Rand + Void = unstoppable.
Ingtar is a really miserable character, but at least we get an explanation for his really deplorably behavior throughout the book. I like to think he redeemed himself, but sheesh. We could have done without this story thread.
I got chills when Mat blew the horn.
