Being a huge fan of
The Bard, I recently went looking for a film adaptation of
Twelfth Night, one of his few works that I have not had the chance to see as of yet. Hearing that there was a recent film adaptation,
She's the Man, I set about procuring a copy of it.
What an utter waste. The stupid voice and facial expressions Amanda Bynes used to try and pretend to be a guy were just ridiculous. Don't bother. Two thumbs WAY WAY down.
Perhaps the most mind-boggling part: the aforementioned atrocities, which caused me to turn the movie off in disgust only 30 minutes into it, are cited by one RT critic as the sole PLUS of the movie:
"Implausible as she is, her voice-changing, artificial guy-speak, and penchant for causing fights makes the whole film fun and watchable."
I guess there just really IS no accounting for taste.
My next adventure:
Enchanted.
