Thursday, October 5. 2006Monday, October 2. 2006A Dying Breed
As some of you may or may not know my grandfather passed away last week. I lived with my grandfather for about the first 5 years of my life. He was a big influence on my life.
He also was one of the last true Cowboys left. At one time in Riverton he had well over 30 Horses (Including some draft horses) Goats, Dogs, Geese, Ducks, Turkeys, Bees, and Chickens all at his place. About 7 years ago he moved down to be the trail leader for Rockin R Ranch in Antimony, Utah. Somehow this little Ranch in the Middle of this little speck of a town in the Middle of Utah caught the attention of The Tonight Show and moreso Ross the Intern. Last year he spent some time down there to drive cattle. I can't find a better link but for now here is a link to the video of that segment (Scroll down a bit) My grandpa is Jerry Lovelady on the video and his "wife" is Diana who helps Ross at the beginning. Just to let everyone know I will not be able to make it to D&D in two weeks on the 23rd, as it is my 3rd Anniversary.

Just a reminder that tomorrow my Dominance over you poor fools continues with the Draft of our Fantasy Football League at 8 p.m.
Let me know if you can still make it. So that if need to I can change the time and date. Oh and some Friendly Advice: Clinton Portis is going to be a stud this year. Monday, July 17. 2006I'd say that's about right
Tuesday, July 11. 2006Superman vs. Batman Round 2
Last June I wrote this regarding the question of who would win in a fight (At least for our movie dollars) between Superman and Batman (Personally I still say Batman would win in a fight, but that's just me).
Well I figured I'd revisit the subject now that the Man of Steel has had his chance to way in. After two weeks when I wrote the initial entry Batman Begins had racked up 122.5 million at the box office and had been the #1 movies for two weeks. After two weeks Superman Returns has racked up 141.6 million but was only the Box Office champ for one week. Personally I really enjoyed both movies and look forward to many more rounds in this box office battle (Even a proposed finale after both initial trilogies of a Superman/Batman movie). But after round one it would seem the winner so far is clear. That of course is Captain Jack Sparrow and his 135.6 million dollar record breaking weekend. Another argument against career politicians. Further proof that the people making the laws in today's society really shouldn't be, as they haven't evolved with the technology of today's society.
When speaking about why he voted against Net Neutrality Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) used an example of when somebody sent him an internet on a Friday, and he didn't receive it for a couple of days. He also has this explanation of how the internet works. It's a series of tubes. Apparently his biggest fear is that 10 movies streaming across the internet will fill up the tubes, keeping him from receiving an internet on time. It kinda reminds me of the quote by Lex Luthor, which is a paraphrase of a quote by Arthur Clarke, in the most recent Superman about how any sufficently advanced Technology would seem like magic to the primitive mind. Tuesday, June 13. 2006A Blast from the Past
So I guess thanks to AoD, Giggler went looking for the About Us Pages that Maverick made for the Company way back when.
In reading it we came across this classic from Radar. He works on "my own brand of unix and Java script operating system. I call it: "JOS" (which stands for the "Junix Operating System, not the first name of the creator of Buffy, and Angel tv series). My design allows me to parse out the DOM at a much faster RAM to CPU ratio, thus allowing the ddl and the css port to integrate along side the xslt ribbon cable. My design effectively makes the USB coolant fan obselete, and out of date. Also, by linking the GUI with the ROM slot cable, I have increased proscesor speed to ten megapixels per unit of PCI. Yeah, put this in your pipe and parse it Steve Jobs, Linus Torvald, and Bill Gates!" Tuesday, May 16. 2006Season 3
As one who has no trust in the executives who decide what is and isn't shown on T.V. I've been following the show renewal season closely. Especially since the fate of Veronica Mars was still up in the air, as the CW hadn't decided whether to give it a 3rd season or not.
Well fortunately the news came down today and the CW has ordered a full 22 episode third season, but they do reserve the right to reduce it to only 13 eps depending on ratings. Here's hoping that The CW advertises, doesn't put it up against House, American Idol, or Lost, and doesn't have it take extended 5 week breaks during the season. Also let's hope they get wise and pair it up with something like Gilmore Girls as a lead in instead of something dumb like this year's lead-in of America's Next Top Model. (Sorry Wren) Monday, May 8. 2006Tuesday Dinner
So what do people want to do for Dinner Tomorrow? Do we want to do a Pot Luck?
Friday, May 5. 2006... But I Haven't Thought Of You Lately At All...
On Tuesday we had talked about getting together to watch the finale.
We can do it at my house if you all are interested. We can maybe make it a pot luck type deal. Since we have TiVo we can maybe eat around 7:30 ish., than start watching VMars around 8:20, 8:30 ish to give it enough of a bumper so we can avoid those advertisement thingies. This also goes for the members of the Homestarmy who aren't watching VMars if you'd like to come. Thursday, May 4. 2006A Long Time Ago, We Used To Be Friends.....
21 episodes down, 1 to go. With the great setup getting us ready for the finale there are still many questions?
Is "Mr. Good Wood" just a pedophile or is he a mass-murdering pedophile? What kind of reveng will Aaron try to get on VM? What's up with Beaver and Kendall Casablancas? What's up with Kendall and the Fitzpatrick's? What's up with Terrance and the Casino Owner? What's up with Veronica's name on Curly's hand? And more importantly, who do you think did it? Personally I'm not buying "Mr. Good Wood" as the final culprit. It still leaves too many questions. Right now I'm leaning towards Kendall and the Fitzpatrick's Insurance scheme. However recent developments also make me wonder if the first theory of the year isn't the truth. Could this all have been a revenge scheme by Aaron? What's everyones opinions, so that we can see next Tuesday who was right, who was wrong, and who will be shocked. Wednesday, March 29. 2006When fate turns you into a Motorcycle... All I can say is prepare yourself for 30 minutes of awesomeness.
Wednesday, December 21. 2005Thursday, December 15. 2005Ahh Winter Veil Time.
Ahh Winter Veil, so much better than that crappy capitalistic/commercialistic Christmas holiday people are always going on about. Bah Humbug!
Anyways, as part of the festivities in Azeroth this year, apparently last year too but we weren't there, there is a quest for char's higher than level 30 called stolen treats, where they have to kill the Greench (No relation to this Grinch). As a reward there is a random (or would that be pseudo-random AoD?) chance for a trade skill shematic. The Possiblities are Engineering, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Leatherworking, Tailoring, and Alchemy. Since it is random and we all would obviously want the appropriate recipe/schematic for our professions so we need to increase our chances by having all eligible characters do it. So we even need the presence of Malyss, our long lost undead Sister, to join us for a bit, even if long enough to only do this quest/quest line. In Regards to Winter Veil I hope everyone has an enjoyable festivity. For that other holiday, Bah Humbug! For more info on the Winter Feil festival check it out here. And in case anyone is wondering her are the four holiday quests. |
