Mad Giggler on :

My name is William Harres. I don't remember much about my first life; she reassures me that with time, my memories will return. As for my second life, those memories are all too clear. It was, like every real life, full of joy and sadness, pain and gladness. My third life began when a beautiful woman leaned over me and said, "Wake up. Here, you don't have to call me Rocio. All water flows to the sea. My name is Marea." And mine, is William Harres.
Yes, I know. It's not a very satisfying ending. There are still too many unanswered questions. But that's the beauty of this story. Even though this IS the last episode, the story IS NOT finished. So, tell me what the dangling threads are. Let me know what the inconsistencies are. And when the story IS finished, hopefully, they'll all be taken care of Trackbacks

Sideshow on :
I agree, I'm quite okay with the ending. But I would like to see more clarification on what the controllers were after.
Ancient Of Days on :
I think they were after a better way to rehabilitate people than the options they currently have.
Ancient Of Days on :
Hmm...let's see:
We still don't really know who/what Rocio is; I'm not clear on why they can't remember their first lives; I think you delivered Macon, Keb, Tommy's last chapters especially powerfully. I would have liked to seen some of that for Howell...although his motives and desires were made clear through other's POVs, I think the character deserves a chance to deliver his own strong ending. In future stories, I'd like to see what happens if someone tries to avoid SDS by uploading themselves into the environments and disconnecting their body. Would this cause problems with recovering them from the higher-level environment? Ancient Of Days on :
One thing that I think you could do to make the story stronger is to develop a stronger sense of in-story time passage.
It's hard to tell, sometimes, how long is between episodes. I was surprised at how quickly Tommy's 40th birthday arrived, for one. Sideshow on :
See and I think they were after a better program to deal with undesirables that wouldn't become unstable.
