So I was watching the new show Chuck tonight and I was pleased to learn that an old friend was in the episode: Adam Baldwin. He is of course not related to any of the Baldwin brothers, which gives me hope that he is actually normal. Anyway, he plays a gun happy, inadvertantly funny, NSA agent who all to willing to kill should the need arise.
I know some people prize actors for their ability to span many different roles, but I think there is some beauty in an actor who decides to play to his strengths. Tuesday, September 4. 2007Wouldn't this be geat?!
I read this and had to share it with all of you.
Monday, July 30. 2007Good Food
I had the opportunity to eat at Mr. and Mrs. Aod this weekend for dinner. AoD and I played r-ball down at the Orem rec center on Friday instead of the normal place. I was then treated to the most delicious meat balls that I can remember having. Apparently they were made by mixing ground beef and sausage with a few other spices. Very, very tasty. AoD summed up the the only problem with the meatballs: They are so bite-sized that you think you can just keep eating them!
I was also treated to a show: young children eating dinner. I had forgotten how much of a mess and how funny things can be when you have kids who don't really want to eat what is in front of them. Thanks for dinner guys. Monday, July 23. 2007Done.
Finally finished at 10:48 Sunday night.
Wednesday, June 6. 2007Once more with the musings
Editors Note: There is a hidden joke in this article, for those who know how to find it!
Well, here I go again; one more business vacation, and one more essay of random thoughts written before, during, and after the flight. This trip I am heading down to Southern California. I have a niece who wanted to get married in the San Diego Temple, even though she (and everyone else involved in the wedding lives in Northern California, some 7 hours away). But apparently the San Diego Temple is "prettier" than the Oaklandor Sacramento temples. But I had to come down and support her. She is a middle child and was never really shown much in the way of quality time by her parents. I always tried to make time for her so that she new someone out there really loved her for who she was. She is a good kid and I want to be here for her. Continue reading "Once more with the musings" Wednesday, May 9. 2007I don't know why...
I don't know why, but this is the funniest one I have seen so far. I think it is because as a kid, I always read this stupid comic hoping that one day it would actually be funny to me.
Sadly, it never was. It came close back in June of 1992. Tuesday, March 27. 2007AoD is a no good, lousy...
Sure enough as soon as I bother to post something on the Homestarmy, who comes along and posts something, nay I say several things. Which in turn manages to push my post down below the fold.
Shame on you AoD! Tuesday, March 27. 2007What a nice girl did for me
So I decided to leave work at a normal time today (6:30pm) because I had an FHE activity. It was a talent night. We had a couple of dance numbers (both interpretive, and tap), several musical numbers (personally written and reproductions of professionally written material), art work, stand up comedians, and a Guitar Hero duel! It was fun.
But the night was topped off by the best thing of all; I got free food! So my thanks to Maria Merrill for giving me a Little Ceasars hot and ready (though by the time I got it, it had ceased to be hot) pizza. I now have lunch for most of the week. It's awesome! Wednesday, March 14. 2007Allow me to fill the void left by AoD
Did you know that there was something special about today at both 1:59am and pm?
That is correct! You can write out the date and time as this: 3/14 1:59. A slight modification/variation of 3.14159; also known as pi! I thought I would share that with you my greek friends. Don't worry everyone, I am prepared to fill the void that Joey's love has left. Sunday, February 25. 2007

So a friend picked me up a nice treasure (not like those punk friends who go home to see their families and then claim that they are out of "cell service", and whose names rhyme with doughy) on his recent trip to Las Vegas: a Klingon Chalice.
So here is the dilema: What do I choose to drink as the maiden beverage? This is a special occasion, and I don't want to use some sub-standard tonic. Milk is too wimpy (this is a klingon chalice). Cran Apple just doesn't feel right. I think I need something thick. Citrus drinks don't seem a good choice. Water = not a drink. Soda is too fizzy. I am so confused. So people, I need your help. I am here by taking suggestions as to what I should drink as my virgin libation. Ideas? Monday, February 5. 2007Where the h3ll is Joey?
So I have been trying to call Joey since last night during the super bowl, and every time that I call, I get no ring, no dial tone, and no Joey. Does anyone know what is happening? I know he is alive because he has posted a few things today (most of which are confusing to the common man). WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER ME JOSEPH SMITH???!!!
Thursday, February 1. 2007SOC: The Trip Home
Well I am on my way home. My first official "work vacation" is over. I am once again several thousand feet in the air and my ear drums are tight with pressure. It hurts just a little. So does my knee. But my belly is quite full and my belt is under a bunch of pressure too. But this pressure makes me very happy.
You see on the way out of town to the airport this morning I had my mother stop at In-N-Out. While there I ordered a vanilla shake, Double-Double, and fries both animal style (but more on that later). For those who have never eaten at In-N-Out, you are missing something truely great. They are without a doubt the best hamburger joint I have ever eaten at. That's all they do; burgers, fries, and drinks. I was able to go their twice this week. My breath stunk of onions, cheese, and meat, butI didn't care. To order something Animal Style mean that you have them grill the onions with their sauce (normally it just comes with fresh onions). But the grilling seals in the flavor. It wasn't until I accidentally ordered fries animal style three years ago that I became a believer. Not only do the grill onions and the sauce, but then they put cheese on the fries and mix it in with the onions and then put more sauce on top of it. Arteries get clogged! But enough of food none of you can have. I want to say that I am glad to be coming home. Not only am I happy to be able to come back to my own bed, but I acctually look forward to coming in to work. While it was nice not to have to deal with somethings this past week, it will put my mind at ease once I can get my hands on a few projects that I know ned some attention. I am needed at my job, and that makes me feel good. I was hoping to be able to talk with Dad while I was home about how to properly balance my life. While I had more than enough opportunities to do so, I did not avail myself of any of them. I don't know why. He is old (68 today!). He has a wealth of experience. But for some reason my stubborn self seemed to say that I want to figure this one out for myself. Maybe it's my passage into manhood. Who knows? Addiction is bad. And I am without a doubt addicted to work. It is my goal this year to try and find that balance. To say: "It's 5pm and it's time to go home." And then not worry about what didn't get done, or what isn't going to get done because I actually left. We'll see. Well I think my stream of consciousness is nearly over. For those of you who managed to get this far, you must enjoy reading. Did I learn anything on this trip? Nothing life altering. But I do know how to check the battery life on my laptop. 1:34 hours left! Friday, January 26. 2007Yeah I watch it. So what?!
I need help from the D&D crew. I have been watching a certain tv series that AoD reccomended to me. I have been enjoying it (though in fairness I roll my eyes a lot). Alright, I'll admit it: I am watching Gilmore Girls, and I like it.
Shut up! Anyway, I need one of you to remind Joey to bring it up to D&D next week. Then give it to Mad Giggler and then he can bring it to me on Thursday when I get back to work. If one or all of you can remind AoD I would be very greatful. Thanks |
